SoAwk® stands for “Socially Awkward.”
The name was inspired by a feeling many people know well: being a little quiet, a little different, a little awkward in social situations, and completely okay with it. What began as a simple idea grew into a brand that celebrates individuality, creativity, culture, and self-expression.
At SoAwk®, we believe you don’t have to fit in to belong.scription text goes here

The name comes from the phrase “Socially Awkward.” For many people, being socially awkward isn’t something to hide. It’s part of what makes them unique.
SoAwk® embraces the idea that you don’t have to be the loudest person in the room to make an impact.

SoAwk® was founded by Eva Harrison, a Black American entrepreneur, book lover, community builder, and proud veteran passionate about celebrating culture, storytelling, creativity, and individuality.
-
I started SoAwk® to create products that celebrate culture, creativity, storytelling, and the freedom to be yourself. As a Black American woman, I draw on my experiences, heritage, and community to shape the brand, and many of our collections honor Black American culture, history, and lineage.
As someone who loves books, creativity, and meaningful conversations, I wanted to build a brand that felt authentic, inclusive, and rooted in the power of stories.
SoAwk® is more than apparel. It’s a creative space where individuality is celebrated, and people are encouraged to show up as themselves.
-
Yes. SoAwk® is proudly Black-owned, woman-owned, and veteran-owned.
These experiences have shaped the values behind the brand: resilience, service, creativity, community, and authenticity. SoAwk® exists to create meaningful products while building spaces where people feel seen, valued, and celebrated.
Every purchase directly supports an independent small business dedicated to creating thoughtful products and community-centered experiences.
